Environmental protection while maintenaing the sustainability of the system

Jacir has developped a range of cooling towers with a closed circuit without glycol and without the risk of damaging the exchanger in case of freezing: in case of a power cut, the water in the secondary circuit falls by gravity into the basin, allowing the exchanger plates and seals to expand in complete safety.

Although traditionally, a cooling tower has a closed circuit with glygol to protect the network or exchanger from freezing in all circumstances, the fact remains that glycol represents the following major drawbacks:

  • Cost,
  • Low exchange coefficient, thus upper investment,
  • Electric consumption increased to compensate for the decline of performance,
  • Pollution during the discharges of water with glycol,
  • Degradation in the time of the antifreeze efficiency.
